Refund policy

1. Merchant Responsibility

  • Returns, exchanges, and refunds are the sole responsibility of the merchant.

  • Zarleeah Marketplace does not process, authorize, or guarantee refunds.

2. Default Returns Framework (Where Merchants Do Not Specify)

In compliance with South African law, the following framework applies:

Domestic Orders

  • Buyers may cancel within 7 days of receiving goods purchased online, under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

  • Goods must be returned unused, in original packaging, with proof of purchase.

  • Returns must be initiated within 14 days of delivery.

  • Refunds must be processed by the merchant within 14 business days of receiving returned goods.

  • Non-returnable items include perishables, custom-made products, and hygiene-sensitive items.

International Orders

  • Merchants must comply with South African export laws and destination country import rules.

  • Buyers are responsible for international return shipping costs unless goods are defective or incorrectly supplied.

  • Refunds exclude customs duties, taxes, or fees paid to the destination country.

  • Defective goods must be refunded or replaced by the merchant in accordance with South African law.

3. Dispute Resolution

  • Buyers must resolve disputes directly with merchants.

  • Zarleeah Marketplace does not intervene in return or refund disputes.

  • Buyers may escalate unresolved disputes to the National Consumer Commission (NCC).

4. Zarleeah Marketplace Disclaimer

  • Zarleeah Marketplace does not assume liability for merchant compliance with returns or refunds.

  • Zarleeah Marketplace is not responsible for enforcing merchant obligations under South African law.
